Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey a woman of courage and conviction. In addition she is rich and she has a big heart. I was born on the same date as Oprah and I must say although I am not as rich as she is, my heart is just as huge. In this blog, I will attempt to bring back news that I find interesting about this woman, Oprah Winfrey.

Oprah Winfrey says she weighs 200 pounds

I sincerely think Hollywood is no place for a fat woman. The obvious factor is woman is already insecure about her looks, and to place her among other gorgeous and thin like pencil tinsel towns babes is unkind to her ego.

Oprah Winfrey a status symbol and not to mention a woman with a bulging bank account suffers what we called "uncontrollable weight gain" syndrome.

This is to tell you happiness is not always about how much money you have and how much fame you get. There seems to be always something waiting in the wing to take you down IF you let it. When I read in the news this morning that she was almost apologetic about her weight gains I can't help but think ... Lighten up Oprah, the planet is dying and therefore all of the fat that you accumulated probably will be melted either by the direct sun or the methane gas from the ocean whichever comes first.

Ice that is used to reflect the sun rays is melting at a rapid pace and the ocean is warmer every minute.

Yet, I am just amazed at the media and the government's inability to speak out on the vegetarian diet issue.

I got green news, environmental news every day in my mail box yet I have not found one single news about how being vegetarian is the ONLY FASTEST WAY to curb the global warming in comparing to green tech.

If the entire world stops eating meat today, we would be like in Eden again. No more silent tears drop in the dark alley of the animal's execution factories, no more children go to bed hungry just so that we can feed more cows, pigs, chickens and all others sweet and innocent co-inhabitants just to be killed.

The other week I was on Twitter and voiced out about vegetarian -- almost 80 percent of my so-called followers drop out.

Please people -- enough is enough -- it is time to stand up and make a different. Save a cow today by being vegetarian. Why? Because it is the right thing to do.

Oprah Winfrey and Obama in DC

The moment has arrived for Oprah Winfrey fans. She is going to bring her show to the Kennedy center in Washington DC and has picked out an inaugural ball dress. Well regardless of how you may feel about the new president, this is a moment of joy even in the midst of economic recession.

Well for me life has been good and it is not about money as truthfully my investment in real estate has been crumpled to say the least. But in the process I've met people who were willing to help me and my faith in God was tested. I must say it is like having cancer and you have to keep your chin up and hope alive but keeping the hope is the only thing to help me go through any life crisis.

And God is my hope -- I am very glad though that I can leave the burden for Her as it was very difficult to think that there won't be any change soon. I really feel for our brothers and sisters out there who don't believe in God. it must be tough to think you have to be responsible for every thing. Maybe we are but think that we can leave all of those unwanted burden on shoulder of a superior being... is worthwhile for me at least for now.

Now we see what is in the news.

Shortly before the Nov. 4 presidential election, talk-show diva and noted Obama-backer Oprah Winfrey announced that she'd already picked out her inaugural ball gown, a sign of overconfidence that she did not have to pay for in the end.

Now that Barack Obama's inauguration is virtually certain (unless the Supreme Court's ponderings lead it to get involved), Oprah has announced she's taking her Chicago talk show to WOprah had Barack and Michelle Obama on her nationally syndicated TV show which she's taking to Washington for the inauguralashington, which is also famous for lotsa talk. (And that'll allow her to write off the gown cost as a business expense.)

She's rented the 2,300-seat Kennedy Center to do two shows there right around Jan. 20.

You may remember Oprah came out early for her fellow Chicagoan. She held a huge celebrity fundraiser for him at her Montecito house.

And she emceed giant primary rallies for him in Iowa and North Carolina, which he won, and New Hampshire, which he lost to Hillary Clinton, the first serious female presidential candidate who many former Oprah fans thought she should support. Winfrey's ratings took a hit.

We don't want to let anything out of the bag and spoil the screaming.

But wouldn't it just be a perfect television moment if, while Oprah is talking to the excited Kennedy Center audience in January, a certain someone who's about to become president and maybe his wife too walked out on the stage behind the show host?

Everyone would cry, except those execs watching the ratings.**(this is funny)

Obama supporter Winfrey accepted $5M from his rival

It has been reported that Oprah Winfrey accepted donations from Obama's rival supporter for her all girls academy in Africa. The amount is 5 millions dollars. Hey I would do the same. Why not? money is money and it does not matter if it came from the rival of the elected president Obama.

The school needs that money and all the girls there are benefit. It would be best to send to Oprah to support the right cause than to fight for another administration of Republican.

I am not party oriented -- I only vote for those that are qualified. In this specific case, it is so obvious that Obama is qualified. In addition, he has just named Hillary Clinton to be Secretary of State. I am way over joy man. In fact I really want to see the first female president 8 years from now???? maybe, could be???

Here is what the press has to report about this news.

Washington, Dec 3 (ANI): Even though American television host Oprah Winfrey was backing President-elect Barack Obama during the elections, she still accepted at least five million dollars from his rival.

Winfrey had, according to federal tax returns and other reports, accepted the donation for her self-named South African girls school, Fox News reports.

The Emmy Awards winner tendered her full support to Obama during his campaign, threw a lavish launch party in his honour, endorsed him on her show, and even cried when he won.

However, it has now been revealed that Winfrey is also a very close friend of Dallas billionaire Harold Simmons, who happens to be a leading Republican
donor and supporter of John McCain.

Winfrey and Simmons have known one another since 2001, and according to the 2006 federal tax filing for the Oprah Winfrey Operating Fund, she accepted a one-million-dollar donation to her Leadership Academy in Johannesburg, South Africa from him.

The Dallas Morning News reported in 2007 that the one million dollars were only part of a five-million-dollar pledge to the Academy.

Winfrey was unavailable for comment, while Simmons, who doesnt have a press representative, did not return calls. (ANI)
